SC/ST Cell

The SC/ST Cell of Late Gaya Prasad Degree College, Banda has been constituted to safeguard the interests of students, faculty, and staff belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. The cell ensures that the rights provided under the Constitution of India are protected and that students are provided with equal opportunities for academic and personal development.

  • Objective: To prevent discrimination and provide a supportive environment for SC/ST students and staff.
  • Scope: Covers welfare, scholarships, and grievance redressal for SC/ST students and staff.
  • Function: To monitor and assist in implementing schemes for the upliftment of SC/ST students.
  • Commitment: Promotes inclusivity, equality, and empowerment in all institutional activities.

Functions of the SC/ST Cell

  • Ensure the implementation of the reservation policy in admission and recruitment processes.
  • Collect data on SC/ST students and staff and maintain relevant records.
  • Monitor and assist in providing financial support, scholarships, and welfare schemes to SC/ST students.
  • Address and resolve grievances of SC/ST students and employees in a timely and fair manner.
  • Organize awareness programs and workshops on constitutional rights and social equality.
